Department of Architecture, School of Architecture and Design recently held an Angan 148th lecture by world-renowned architect Wong Mun Summ, co-founder of the award-winning architecture firm WOHA. Wong Mun Summ, whose firm is behind the innovative design of BRAC University’s new campus, delivered an insightful lecture to students, faculty, and architects.
The event, held on campus, drew an enthusiastic crowd that included not only BRAC University students but also participants from various universities across the country. Wong Mun Summ captivated the audience by sharing the vision and philosophy behind WOHA’s various groundbreaking designs, with a particular focus on BRAC University’s campus.
Architect Mun Summ emphasized WOHA’s commitment to sustainable architecture. He highlighted how BRAC University’s campus design integrates environmental considerations with functional and aesthetic excellence. He discussed the role of green spaces, natural ventilation, hybrid cooling system and innovative materials in creating a unique learning environment.
Students were particularly inspired by Mun Summ’s emphasis on community-focused design and his belief that architecture should contribute to a better quality of life for all. A Q&A session followed the lecture, where students and aspiring architects engaged in meaningful discussions with the esteemed architect.
